Ordained as a Unity Minister in 1989, Reverend Patty Edwards has served Unity Ministries for over thirty years, and as a minister for over twenty years. Serving first as an Administrative Assistant and Youth Education Director for Unity Church of Bellingham, Washington and Unity Church of Peoria, Illinois.
After ordination, Reverend Edwards served a pioneering ministry in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois, which doubled in a two-year period. Following her ministry in Illinois, she and her husband served as ministers to the Unity Church of Santa Barbara, California for over ten years. During the final four years of ministry there, she served as the Senior Minister. During her tenure in Santa Barbara, she helped lead the church through two separate building projects (remodeling the main sanctuary and renovation of the social and youth education building). She supervised both projects to completion and dedication.
Reverend Edwards served over sixty churches in the Southwest Region of Unity Churches, as President and then Regional Representative for that Region. During that service, she also serviced on the National Board of Trustees for the Association of Unity Churches, which provides service and training for over 1,100 churches and their ministers throughout the world.
As Regional Representative, she served on the National Standards Committee, helping to produce higher standards for ministries and ministers in the Unity Movement. Some of this work required training in Conflict Management and Peacemaking for churches and she worked with several churches in her region to resolve such conflict. Currently, Reverend Edwards is serving as Judicatory Representative for the South Central Association of Unity Churches, assisting over 168 churches.
During Reverend Edwards' thirty years serving ministries, she has taught classes and workshops on the bible, self-esteem, relationships, communication skills, prosperity, visualization for health, spiritual twelve step programs, women's issues, creating personal mission statements, goal setting, stress management and Unity Basics.
Active in the communities she served, she has participated in ecumenical services for Thanksgiving, Holocaust Survivors, Mental Health Awareness, Alzheimer's Fund Raising events, Community Blessings and yearly Women's Retreats.
Reverend Patty is the wife of Unity Minister Eddy Edwards, mother of five grown children, sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Having a great love for people in all walks of life, she continues to seek to help individuals to experience God in every aspect of their lives, to raise their self-esteem for greater confidence in following their inner calling to contribute to social well-being, personal and community evolution, success and fullfillment.

I am excited about our Board of Trustees and the vision that we see for Unity in 2009. At our Planning Retreat, we focused on developing the kind of prosperity consciousness that will fulfill the dream of our new facility on Jefferson Street. We believe that as we embrace the spiritual work that we are called to do, we will truly be a blessing to our community and to all who come here.
Our number one spiritual goal this year is to develop our spiritual community through:

Join us in participating in any or all of the educational and service activities we will be offering to build that consciousness. Our Adult Education Ministry Team is offering classes in prayer with "Prayer Works Wonders" and "Developing Prayer Partners" We also will be offering Healing lectures and classes on Body Talk, Nutrition, Mental Karate and Communication. Ask yourself this year, "How can I build a consciousness of intentional caring and what is healthy spiritual support for my Unity family members and myself?"

A Town Meeting will be held on May 31st to update everyone on our Building Teams' progress towards developing the conceptual design for our new church home. Join us.
