The Power of Order: Finding the Divine Flow Within

When we hear the word order, we may think of schedules, organized spaces, plans, or having everything under control. But in Unity, the spiritual power of Order invites us into something much deeper.

Order is the ability to organize, balance, sequence, and adjust our thoughts and actions in harmony with Divine Order. It reminds us that we don't always have to force life into place. Sometimes our work is simply to become still enough to recognize the divine wisdom already present within us.

Divine Order Begins Within

When life feels chaotic, our first instinct may be to fix what is happening around us. We try to change circumstances, manage other people, work harder, or figure everything out.

Yet Healing Secrets of the Ages offers another perspective:

“When things seem inharmonious and out of order… remind yourself that lack of order first exists within you.”

That can be a powerful shift.

Instead of asking, “How do I get everything around me under control?” we can ask:

“What needs to come into order within me?”

Perhaps it is our thoughts.Perhaps our priorities.Perhaps our emotions.Perhaps it is simply our need to know what happens next.

When we begin within, the outer world may not immediately change—but the way we meet it does.

We Are Never Separated From Divine Wisdom

Unity teaches that God is everywhere present and within all things. Divine wisdom is therefore not something far away that we must somehow earn or find.

There is a spark of the Divine within each of us.

When we become quiet through prayer and meditation, we create space to listen to that wisdom. Instead of reacting from fear, hurry, or frustration, we can ask:

What is mine to do now?

We may not receive the entire plan. Often, we receive only the next step.

And perhaps that is enough.

Order does not necessarily mean knowing how everything will unfold. It can mean trusting that we will know what we need to know when we need to know it.

Order Is Also About What Comes First

There is another beautiful way to think about Order: priority.

What do we place first?

Fear—or faith?Reaction—or reflection?Judgment—or understanding?Control—or trust?Love—or grievance?

Jesus taught:

“Seek first the kingdom of God…” — Matthew 6:33

The word first matters.

When Spirit comes first, everything else can begin to find its proper place.

This doesn't mean that difficult circumstances disappear. It means we choose the consciousness from which we will meet them.

Before answering the difficult email, pause.

Before reacting to someone's words, breathe.

Before deciding that everything is going wrong, become still.

There is a space between what happens and how we respond. In that space, we can choose again.

From Control to Flow

Sometimes what we call “getting things in order” is actually an attempt to control everything.

Divine Order invites something different.

It asks us to participate with life rather than push against it.

Think of your breath.

You do not have to remind your heart to beat. You do not consciously direct every process within your body. Life is continually unfolding through an intelligence greater than your conscious awareness.

What might happen if we trusted that same Divine Presence a little more?

We can still make plans. We can still take action. We can still organize our lives. But we can do those things from a place of centeredness rather than fear.

We can loosen our grip and listen.

I Am One With the Flow of Life

This month's affirmation is simple:

I am one with the flow of life.

Take a slow breath and say it aloud.

I am one with the flow of life.

Say it again, a little more softly.

I am one with the flow of life.

And finally, allow the words to become silent within you.

I am one with the flow of life.

You do not have to have everything figured out today.

Become still. Listen. Trust the Divine wisdom within you. Take the next step that is yours to take.

And when life begins to feel out of order, return within.

Spirit first. Truth first. Love first.

From there, Divine Order can unfold—one breath, one choice, and one step at a time.
